Ducts (or conduits) o er a highly protective environment for bre-optic cables. They are typically buried, and then the cables are air-blown, jetted, pulled, or pushed into the duct. The most commonly deployed dielectric outdoor cable design is ALTOSTM loose tube cable, which can be blown, jetted, or pulled into a duct or conduit that will protect the cable during its installed lifetime. Dielectric loose tube cables are suitable for lashed aerial and duct installations.
